Some Notes:

Famine has been over for about 12 years now

Jacob is on his deathbed

Jacob wanted to be buried in the land of his fathers rather than in Egypt

He was looking towards his future hope of partaking in the future promised land when Christ would reign.

Jacob reminded Joseph not to look at Egypt as a final home and answers to his needs.

Family is still the most important institution

  • Even though Joseph is the second most important person in Egypt, he still kneels to his father.

The most important thing to Jacob is making sure that his family has a relationship with God

What does your life revolve around?

  • What do you consider most important to you in this life?
  • Does it revolve around the things of this world or God who has promised us a better world?
  • What are you teaching your children, your grand children?

Are we teaching them that the most important thing in this world is to put your faith in God and have a personal relationship with Christ.
